I want to know ….how does he get his beard like this…does he shave around and just leave some stubble? when I try, It never looks like this.

It looks like the work of movie make up. They incorporate fake beards, pretend stubble, color and all sorts of magic to create a certain look.
This look is good on Mr Depp as a pirate but on you riding the bus or coming to work will probably not be greeted with enthusiasm and adoring looks from the female species.
