In Public Enemies, Johnny Depp Has Some Weird Scar On The Back Of His Head, Was It Just For The Movie?

Does he really have a scar like an x or t on the back of his head in his hair? Or was it just for the movie as part of his character?
Also, where did the line on his cheek come from in the movie?

I know the scar on his cheek was the same thing the real John Dillinger had, so that was for the movie. I saw the movie but didn’t notice anything on the back of his head.
I’m almost %100 certain that it was stage makeup to make his character more rugged and rough.
I don’t think he has giant scars on his face in real life .. someone would have noticed!
