My husband and I were planning to dress our son as Freddie Krueger for his first Halloween.
We are also planning to match by going dressed as Freddy Krueger’s parents (as revealed in the 5th Nightmare on Elm Street film, Freddy Krueger was conceived when his mother, a nun named Amanda, accidentally got locked in a room full of mental patients at the asylum where she worked and was raped hundreds of times so…)
I will go dressed as the nun, Amanda Krueger
and my husband will go dressed as a psychoticic rapist
(all three of our costumes would be home-made, I’m a pretty good seam-stress)
We even found ways to dress the stroller up like the boiler room where Freddy was killed,
and we’re attaching a small sound system to the stroller that sings the old jump rope song from the movie at the push of a button (ya know the “one two freddie’s coming for you, three four better lock your door, etc..” song that always plays at the end of each Nightmare on Elm Street movie).
So far whenever my hubby and I tell anyone our plans for Halloween we get one of two reactions:
“that’s so cool” or “that’s awful, why would you do that”
I thought it was a creative idea
but apparently some people find it offensive
what do you think? good idea or are we crossing a line?

are they responsible for all the deaths that subsequently occured when freddy went on a rampage, and then after his death continued to kill the children of elm street?
(don’t say it isn’t real, until you can prove that freddy krueger doesn’t exist and kill people in thier dreams, you must presume he does)
